If you use Blogger for your blog, please don’t tell me you actually use Blogger to post?! It isn’t very user-friendly. Dealing with pictures is a drag.
Here are some reasons why I love Windows Live Writer:
- It lets you publish to almost any blog service, including Windows Live, WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, and many more.
- With Writer, you can preview everything you’re adding to your blog, to see how the fonts, spacing, colors, and images will look, before you publish. It really is WYSIWYG {What You See Is What You Get}!
- It's fast and easy to make your photos and videos look great on your blog. I love people use Windows Live Writer and their pictures are bigger on their blog, so I can actually see them!
- It auto saves.
- The Preview Tab. Just click on it and it shows you exactly what your post will look like once it’s posted. Love this!
I use Windows Live Photo Gallery along side with Windows Live Writer. In Photo Gallery, I just select the photos I want posted and then choose “Create Post.” And Voila! It takes me into Writer and I type things and make the post look how I want it. And then I click Publish. Done.
In fact, I’m writing this post in Windows Live Writer!
Conclusion
Please check out Windows Live Writer. Some of you may say you don’t need it. It’s just like a cell phone. You say you don’t need one until you actually have one. Then you can’t go back because it makes your life so much easier!
I am Google fan, but I’m also a huge Microsoft fan. I will always use both of their products! And it’s so great that they work together so well, like this example!

1 - If I have multiple blogs - some blogger and a wordpress - can I use one live writer account and publish to any one certain blog? What if I want to publish the same post to multiple blogs - does it help with that?
2 - Does it require me to download software?
3 - How will it work with Mac?
4 - Is there a capacity limitation? Thanks for the help! You are the best...
And, on google send and archive...I am not using it yet - where does it archive? Do I need to pre-label it?

ReplyDeleteNo love for your Mac friends? I know we've discussed that WLW is not available for Mac ... BOO ... but I have tried a couple out that I researched and think I'm happy with one. MacJournal got great reviews but it didn't seem very intuitive to me (although I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out) and it was pricey - $39.99. Next I tried Blogo which is what I've used to update several times now and I really like it!!! Much easier to work with images to get them where I want them in my post instead of always having to move them in Blogger AND I can write to either of my 2 blogs from there. Quick and easy! It does cost $25 (I'm still using the free trial) but I think it will be worth it to me to invest the money to make my blogging easier ... the more difficult something is the less inclined I am to do it so if I can make blogging quicker and easier then I will do it more often!! Thanks for all of the tips on this ... even if you leave our your Mac friends ;)
ReplyDeleteSo i was up for a few hours last night downloading and using windows live writer....because you say so! My most recent post was using it, but it cut off my pictures! I'm not sure why it's easier than typepad. I did like the font options it gave me. That was fun. I think I need you to sit down with me and give me some tips!
